Canon PowerShot A 570 IS

The Canon PowerShot A 570 IS is compact in size, has all the basic features and is relatively easy to operate. It offers Image Stabilization, 7 megapixel high resolution with 4X optical zoom and makes use of 2 AA batteries. It is equipped with DIGIC III technology that ensures high quality images with little or no effort. Its feature set includes full manual controls for customizable settings and automatic face detection technology. Its face detection technology also adjusts focus, exposure and flash automatically. A570 also allows for unlimited continuous shooting. Images are sharp and colorful with little fringing at the edges. Power Shot A570 has an improved focus speed, exposure and white balance. The Canon A570 sports a highly flexible VGA and QVGA movie mode wherein users can choose compact movie mode for saving the overall storage space.

The Canon Power Shot SD 570 IS has an average battery life.  The levels if noise at high ISO may be disappointing for many. Price is one area that requires a special consideration keeping in mind the features and competition. There are some problems with redeye that have to be manually corrected. The users may also experience chromatic aberration while shooting and a slow flash re-charging. The memory card is small and would sincerely require an upgrade for the Canon’s movie mode files that occupies a lot of space. The lens is slow and takes time for setting itself. Besides, there is some noticeable barrel distortion. The Canon A570 IS does not come with rechargeable batteries and charger. The optical zoom finder does not display the details and the Zoom is not continuous.

Overall, the Canon Power Shot SD 570 is a compact, easy to use yet capable camera that results in high quality photos and lives up to the reputation of the Canon Power Shot range.
