Targus, the industry leader that introduced the first universal dual-video docking station, adds two new powered docks to its extensive lineup of docking stations — the Universal USB 3.0 DV Docking Station with Power (DOCK171USZ) and the Universal USB 3.0 DV4K Docking Station with Power (DOCK177USZ).
“Our latest powered docks represent the progress we’ve made in the docking station vertical since our flagship powered docks, ACP71USZ and ACP77USZ,” says Ron DeCamp, Vice President, Global Product Management and Development at Targus. “Complete with integrated charging and interchangeable power tips, these docks enable enterprises to accommodate users with virtually any device at any workstation and they facilitate a flexible workspace.”
Only two connections give users access to dual monitors and other peripherals without the need for a power supply under the desk. Since the patented powered docking stations supply laptop power directly to the laptop, users can leave their laptop charger in their bag to save time when they arrive at the workstation. The dock’s wedge design is meant to support the laptop to save desk real estate and provide a comfortable typing angle.
To provide scalability for enterprises as they move from HD or 2K monitors to 4K options in the years to come, DOCK177USZ supports the emerging 4K standard. It also reintroduces HDMI and can connect to TVs and larger format displays as well as high-definition monitors. That’s in addition to boosting productivity with the addition of two monitors – or even three if you count a laptop.
