Canon Digital Rebel XT Review

This powerful Canon Digital Rebel XT SLR camera from Canon is available in black, black and silver outer case that looks trendy and stylish. It is amazingly fast to turn on for a SLR and is relatively quite in operation. The camera is extremely compact and can easily pass off as a snapshot camera for unfamiliar photographers. For an SLR, it is smaller making it sometimes difficult to hold for people with large hands. The optical viewfinder does most of the focusing and pointing job and the LCD display screen works mostly for menu display. It has a reduced shutter lag and higher pop up flash compared to its predecessors and interchangeable lenses. The noise level is extremely low even at high ISO settings giving excellent picture output and the short battery life calls for a change in a full day of shooting. The smaller battery also means that it is lighter in weight and can be carried out easily. The XT has a built in light meter display that allow for variable light adjustment settings according to different light conditions. The camera also shuts itself off automatically after some time, if not in use and contributes to precious battery life. The XT is compatible with any printer enabled with the pictBridge technology and has high camera to computer data transfer rates. The kit lens is an average quality and can be replaced with a more powerful lens. The auto focus doesn’t really work that well with close up shots where it takes a considerable time to focus.

The digital rebel is well suited for digital intermediate photographers who like it small yet have many manual settings to experiment with. It is also affordable compared to most of the DSLRs.
