If You’re Still Seeing Red after the Holiday Season, It Must Be XE Mobile’s Latest Handset

XE Mobile Adds the Nokia 6061 Phone to Their Growing Handset Portfolio

Hoping to make conversations more colorful, XE Mobile, a new pay-as-you-go wireless service designed to meet the needs and lifestyles of the youth and college age market, announced today the availability of the red-hot Nokia 6061 clamshell phone. This is the first Nokia 6061 handset offered for the prepaid user and XE Mobile carries the only red model available in the U.S.

“XE is excited to offer this one-of-a-kind handset to its members – the color, look and feel fits well with our brand and target market,” said Mark Ghermezian, president and CEO of XE Mobile. “XE is committed to offering the best products in the market place and will continue to offer handsets no other pay-as-you-go service is offering. Our members want the latest phones from the well known brands like Nokia, and we will offer them.”

One of the standout features in this easy-to-use handset is the pulsating light that allows members to easily check for new messages or missed calls. Additional features include MP3, MIDI, and AMR formats for ringtones, calendar with day, week and month view, to-do list, calculator, stopwatch and countdown timer, speakerphone and photo phone book that stores up to 500 entries. For even more fun, the handset is preloaded with Java™ games. XE Mobile members can download more Java games, MP3 and polyphonic ring tones, wallpapers or animated screen savers to customize their phone to make it one-of-a-kind.

“The Nokia 6061 phone combines Nokia’s hallmark style and ease of use at a very attractive $49.99 price point,” said Mike Pennington, vice president of sales for Nokia. “We are pleased to be working closely with XE to add the Nokia 6061 phone to its lineup of Nokia handsets.”

XE Mobile rates start as low as 10 cents per minute, with up to 250 free incoming minutes each month, unlimited free incoming text messages and international long distance rates from only five cents per minute. Members are never locked into any contract or plan and can easily adjust as their wireless service needs change throughout the year.

Included free with the purchase of every XE phone is the XE Club Card, the nation’s most widely accepted discount program for youth. The XE Club Card, with a $40 value, provides members with exclusive discounts of up to 50% off at more than 21,000 retailer locations around campuses and national businesses, as well as online merchant providers. Participating partners include Target.com, Microsoft, FYE Music Stores, DELL, ArmaniExchange.com, Urban Outfitters, Barnes n’ Noble, Greyhound, Foot Locker and more.

Rounding out the Nokia handsets in XE Mobile’s line-up are the Nokia 2600 ($19.99 MSRP), Nokia 1600 ($29.99 MSRP) and Nokia 3220 ($59.99 MSRP) phones.
